About Us
It all started in 2004...by accident!
While reading a magazine article about combining old candles I decided to research how to make my own candles. I knew at that time the many benefits of soy and was already weaning myself off of soot producing paraffin candles. So I checked into soy.
I bought a few supplies so I could make some candles for myself. They turned out great! I ended up giving some to friends who agreed they were fabulous. I kept making more and more and decided to do one craft show (Garfield Park 2004) to sell everything I had made because I would never use it all. The candles were a hit and I decided to continue. It took about a year and a half to get perfection -- candle making may look easy but I assure you it is truly a science!
After Garfield Park, I made my first "brand" and started on label designs, brochures, my website, and getting into some more shows. The second year, my sales doubled from new and repeat business. By my third year, sales had quadrupled! By my fourth year (2007), my sales were five times my first year. My customers continue to rave about my products and pass the word along. In addition to this site, I am also on EBay, Etsy, and MSN Live!
I am now in the best craft shows each year, including the very high profile Beneath the Wreath the first weekend of November, Rogue River Artisans in Lowell the first week of December, and the ever popular Schoolhouse Arts and Crafts the third week of November in East GR. After a lot of prodding from my wonderful customers, I am taking the plunge and doing the 10th Annual Women's Expo in 2008!
